Frequently asked

Everything people ask before the first order.

If something is not here, call 866-497-LUBE and ask. You will get John or Evan, and you will get a straight answer — including "no" when that is the honest one.

No minimum on packaged goods — we will sell you a single case. Bulk tank delivery starts at 500 gallons because that is the smallest economical tanker drop. In between, freight is what decides whether an order makes sense, and we will tell you plainly when it does not.
No. The quote builder shows live per-gallon pricing with no login, no email gate and no "contact us for pricing." Build a list, send it, and we confirm the final number within 24 hours.
That is the normal case, not the exception. Tell us the equipment — make, model, year, or just "a shop full of Ford trucks" — and we match it to the right product, grade and container size. Start with the oil finder or call and describe what you have.
Until it ships, yes — one phone call. Nothing you send through the quote builder is an order; it is a request for pricing. You approve the confirmed quote before anything moves. Standing deliveries can be changed, paused or resized any month with no penalty.
As a rule: under 50 gallons a month, pails. Fifty to three hundred, drums. Three hundred to a thousand, totes. Past a thousand, bulk into your own tank. The savings calculator puts a dollar figure on the difference for your volume.
Not yet, and that is deliberate. Lubricant pricing moves with base oil markets and freight, so a checkout button would either overcharge you or quote a price we cannot honor. You build the list, we confirm the real price within 24 hours, then you approve it.
Builder pricing is a planning estimate on current base oil costs. The final quote adds your actual freight lane, current market movement and any volume tier you qualify for. In practice it usually comes in at or below the estimate — and if it comes in higher, we tell you why before you approve.
First order is typically prepaid or card. After that, established accounts move to net terms based on volume and history. There is no contract, no monthly minimum and no cancellation fee — you stay because the service is worth it. Full detail in our terms of sale.
Base oil is a commodity, so yes — but you should not feel it constantly. Standing-delivery accounts get pricing held for an agreed period, and when the market genuinely moves we tell you before the invoice does, not after.
No. STARFIRE® carries the same API, ILSAC and OEM licences the national brands carry — the difference is marketing spend, not additive chemistry. Where a premium brand genuinely earns its price for your application, we say so and sell you that instead.
Quote back within 24 hours, first delivery in about three business days for stocked items across the Indianapolis metro and surrounding counties. Nationwide runs longer depending on freight. Rush orders happen — call and ask rather than guessing.
Packaged goods ship anywhere in the continental United States. Bulk tanker delivery is centered on Indiana and the surrounding states, where we can run a route economically. Ask about your address — the answer depends on volume as much as distance.
Freight is quoted as a visible line, never buried in the per-gallon price. Local metro deliveries at reasonable volume are generally included. We will also tell you when waiting a week to combine two orders saves you more than the rush is worth.
Usually, with notice. Second-shift plants and fleets that cannot give up a bay during the day get scheduled around their operation, not ours. Tell us your window when we set the standing schedule.
Totes are swapped on refill at no charge. Drums we can collect on a scheduled delivery in the local area — ask, because it removes a real disposal cost from your books. Bulk tank customers have nothing to return at all.
No. STARFIRE® is our house premium line and usually the better value, but Mobil, Chevron, Shell, Valvoline, Pennzoil, Quaker State and Lucas all go on the same order and the same truck. If an OEM warranty or a customer contract requires a specific brand, that is the brand you get.
CK-4 is the current heavy-duty diesel engine oil category; SP is the current gasoline engine category. A diesel truck needs CK-4, a passenger car needs SP, and some light-duty diesel pickups call for both. If the oil filler cap or owner's manual names a spec, match the spec — brand is secondary.
Yes. We stock GM dexos1® Gen 3 licensed oil, ACEA-rated European formulations, Allison TES and CAT TO-4 transmission fluids, and John Deere JDN-360/380 spindle grease among others. Send us the spec off the cap, the manual or the last invoice and we will match it exactly.
Any product, any time — email a request and it comes back the same business day. If you need a full SDS binder for an audit or a new site, ask and we will assemble it for everything you buy from us.
Antifreeze and coolant, grease, gear and transmission fluid, hydraulic oil, DEF, brake fluid, penetrants, absorbents and general shop supplies. The point of consolidating is that one truck covers the list — if we do not stock something, we will source it.
That is often the single biggest win. Most shops carry three oils that one product covers safely. We go through what you stock, find the legitimate consolidations, and flag the ones that would be a bad idea — some equipment genuinely needs its own fluid.
John or Evan. No phone tree, no ticket queue, no rotating rep. That is the entire point of a two-person company — the person who set up your program is the person who picks up.
No. Everything is month to month. Change the volume, change the products, pause a delivery, or leave — no penalty and no awkward conversation. Accounts that stay do so because the pricing and the service hold up.
Gladly, and there is no charge or obligation. Send one recent invoice and we will price the same volume in the right container, line by line. Sometimes the answer is that your current supplier is already competitive — we will tell you that too.
Call the main line for anything urgent. If you suspect a leak or spill, stop the source only if it is safe to do so, keep people and drains clear, and call. We handle and ship hazardous materials under DOT regulations and can get absorbents to you fast.
We advise on it and coordinate it. Moving to drums needs a pump; moving to bulk needs a tank and containment. We will tell you what the setup actually costs and how quickly the savings cover it before you spend anything.
